Then, he will develop a design for your porcelain veneers and create a model that will allow you to preview the potential of your new smile. Once you agree upon the design, he will send that information to a dental laboratory, where artisans will handcraft your restorations. At your second visit, he will prepare your teeth and attach the veneers. In some cases, Dr. Elmore may recommend teeth whitening or orthodontics in combination with porcelain veneers, causing treatment times to vary.
How will I care for porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers don’t require a special maintenance routine. Care for them as you would your natural teeth with regular dental visits and routine brushing and flossing. The only caution we suggest is to avoid chewing ice, biting fingernails, and hard candy, which can damage the veneers. Porcelain veneers won’t discolor like natural teeth, so teeth whitening will no longer be an issue.
